Key Campus Resources

The campus of UNC Charlotte offers numerous resources for the graduate student during their first weeks of class.  Follow the links below to gain additional information.

Atkins Library

The J. Murrey Atkins Library offers a wide array of services and resources to support the research needs of graduate students, including books, journals, access to materials in other libraries, workstations with a wide variety of software programs including SPSS and the Microsoft Office suite, group study rooms, laptops, and wireless access. Research assistance is available from Subject Specialists and a resource web page specific to the needs of Graduate Students has been developed by the Library.


Calendars

UNC Charlotte's calendars help keep you up-to-date with important deadlines plus campus events.  Check them often.


Campus Dining

Campus Dining makes it easier for students, even commuters, to dine on campus or grab a bite and go.  Check the website for daily menu options as well as information on pre-paid meal plans/cards.


Center for Graduate Life

The Center for Graduate Life (CGL) is the campus home for all graduate students.  Come enjoy the lounge (with LCD television), professional development workshops and graduate student affairs expertise, all on-site.  The CGL-supporting success of graduate students.


Funding a Graduate Education

Most graduate funding is available through academic departments.  For more information on funding resources, visit the Funding web page on the Graduate School website.


Graduate & Professional Student Government

The Graduate and Professional Student Government (GPSG) at UNC Charlotte is the governing body for graduate students designed to meet the academic, social, and logistical needs of graduate and post-baccalaureate students enrolled at the University. Membership in the GPSG is open to all graduate and post-baccalaureate students, both full and part time. Each graduate program is provided one voting member on the GPSG Senate. Any graduate student is welcome to participate in the activities and work of the GPSG.  Visit the GPSG website for additional information.

ITS Student Services

ITS is a student's gateway to technological information including setting up a NinerNET Account and Service Desk information for a myriad of software programs.  Get help with setting up your NinerNET account, my.uncc.edu and email, plus information on the numerous computing labs available on campus.  The  ITS Student Services Desk has locations in Atkins Library, main floor, and in the Student Union, at the Information Desk.  Service Desk hours vary so check the website for up-to-date information or phone 704-687-5500. You can also submit a question online using the HelpDesk Online system.


Office of Adult & Evening Students

OASES offers services designed to assist the adult, evening and weekend student.  They can help prospective and enrolled adult students in accomplishing their educational goals.


Student Union

The Student Union is a dramatic new addition to campus and includes the campus bookstore, restaurants, movie theater and many student offices.


Teaching Resources

These teaching resources have been gathered to help a student as they focus on developing their teaching expertise.  New students who plan to be GTA's, should attend the GTA Training & Orientation being held prior to the start of the semester.
